Getting Help

Who do you talk to if you believe you’ve been asked you to do something that’s unsafe?

  1. Start with your immediate supervisor and if they’re not available, tell someone else in a position of authority. Explain why you’re not comfortable. In most cases, you will resolve the issue at this stage.
  2. If you’re still not satisfied, ask your safety representative, a member of your safety committee, or a shop steward.
  3. If you’re still not satisfied, contact the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission. Call toll free in the NWT 1-800-661-0792 or in Nunavut 1-877-404-4407.
