Knowing what questions to ask and when to ask them can be overwhelming when you’re new to the working world. Here are the top ten questions to ask your employer:

  1. What are the hazards of this job?
  2. Are there other hazards I should know about?
  3. When will I receive job training?
  4. Do you have health and safety meetings?
  5. Will I have to wear personal protective equipment? Will you provide it? When will I get training on how to use it?
  6. Do you offer emergency response training? When will I receive it?
  7. Where are all the pieces of emergency equipment located (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.)?
  8. What do I do if I get injured? Who is the first aid person?
  9. What are my health and safety responsibilities?
  10. Who do I ask if I have a health and safety question?
